Get Involved!

"Ask not what your community can do for you. Rather, ask what you can do for your community." That's not exactly what President John F. Kennedy said, but it certainly is a good philosophy. In fact, it's a philosophy that many of your neighbours and friends in Hawkestone have taken to heart. It's why we have so many great organizations offering programs for children, youth, adult and seniors. It's why we have dedicated volunteer firefighters who are willing to give up so much of their time for training and remain on standby to protect our property and lives.

“The Hawkester” is one way we try to bring the community together. Several members of the Community Association first got involved because they read about something that interested them. Others are just naturally drawn to do volunteer work. Still others get involved as coaches or instructors because they want to be a part of their children's active lifestyle.

How to get involved:

The Hawkestone and Area Community Association (HAACA) is the driving force behind the many projects designed to enrich the life of local residents. Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at 8:00PM in the Community Hall. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings, provide input, make new friends and share in the fellowship of your neighbours.
